Sun-Mar Composting Toilets
Self-contained units are installed directly in the bathroom. They are available in both electric and non-electric versions.
Electric units plug into a regular three(3) pin outlet to power a fan and a thermostatically controlled heating element in the base of the unit.
Composting capacity varies with the size of the Bio-drum. Electric units normally have more capacity than non-electric units because they have extra warmth and air movements.
The most important advantages of of self contained units are:
|
|
- Being waterless, they need no plumbing or water connection. This means they are quick and easy to install since the only task is to assemble the vent stack, which comes with the unit.
- They are more economical than central units because there is no separate toilet.
- Cleaning is simple. All self-contained units have a bowl liner beneath the seat, which can be removed for cleaning whenever necessary.
- High quality, high gloss fiberglass finish is perfect for indoor installations.

Excel NE (Non-Electric)
The success of the Excel design meant that a three chamber unit could be specifically designed for those with no continuous 110 Volt supply. The Excel NE has no fan or heater. Odorless operation is achieved by a 4" vent mounted at the top rear of the unit which acts like a chimney on a wood stove.
If the Excel NE is used residentially or heavily, or is in a place subject to downdraft, an optional 12 Volt fan should be installed in the vent stack. This fan draws 1.4 Watts and can be powered by a solar panel and/or 12 Volt battery.

Compact
Sun Mar engineers designed this low profile toilet by developing and patenting a new variable diameter Bio-drum which is small at the front and large at the rear. to maintain the uninterrupted lines of the Compact, a patented Bio-drum handle, recesses into the body of the unit to mix and aerate the compost.
As with an Excel, a 2" vent stack attaches to the rear of the compact and can be installed invisibly. A 1/2" emergency drain at the rear offers protection against heavy or residential use, or prolonged power outage.

Sealand One Pint Flush Toilet
Using about one pint of water per flush, these ultra-low flush toilets provide all the advantages of a flush toilet while minimizing water usage.
A simple foot pedal opens the water valve and discharges waste when pushed down, filling the bowl when lifted. After flushing a small amount of water is held in the toilet bowl; which is sealed by a self cleaning ball valve and teflon seal. even gravity-fed water from a roof tank is sufficient to flush a One Pint Toilet. Ideal for use with all Sun Mar central systems, they can also be used with holding tanks, overloaded septic systems and RVs.
Several different models of ceramic Sealand toilets are offered. the Sealand 510 has a regular sized toilet seat and is 2" longer and 1" wider than the Sealand 910. Sealand toilets are available in either White or Bone. They come complete except for the required 3" four(4) bolt flange.
